The Shining, Stephen King Week #2

This week I'm just going to focus on what I liked about the book and who i think would like it. In general i liked this book a lot it was very creepy and i liked it better then the movie. Its like 600 pages so it is a stretch for a two week or three but i read it as a two week. I think that someone who in joys a creepy novel or also slightly an adventure novel will like this. It is based in Colorado which is cool. I would probably say that gets creeped out easily or has night mares should not read this. I think that majority of the book isn't scary but the end is just super spooky. In general its a really cool book and i  suggest it to anybody that likes scary/creepy books or movies.

The Shining By Stephen King

I chose this book because I saw the movie, i heard a lot about how Stephen King felt the movie didn't feel like it was up to par compared to the book and I wanted to read it and find my opinion. This book is a two to three week book, it is around 600 pages, this book is a medium/ hard reading leveled book (leaning more towards hard). so far into the book I like it, it has a lot of suspense then nothing happens. you can tell that John (the main character) is quickly going insane. i like the style of writing and i have never before read a scary book and this is a good start for me. i wouldn't consider this book scary though, i would call it creepy or odd.
This book is based in the mountains of Colorado and during the winter the Overlook Hotel is vacant, so they need a grounds keeper to watch after the hotel and keep it in shape. The year before the grounds keeper went insane and murdered his family. This doesn't disturb John, him and his family decide to stay up there for the winter (they are getting paid a lot). a large snow comes keeping them indoors, John is starting to go insane.... Quick! Read this book if you want to find out what happens
