The air was crisp and cool all of the thoughts of the
past season rush to my head. We started towards the mountain. It was early
season not many people where lined up in the lift line. We quickly got to the
front, our skis felt restricting when we walked. We sprung to the blue line and
sat down on the lift. We looked down and all I heard was loud screeches coming
from the skiers on the mountain. The top was near and the lift stopped, we
forgot that the lift stops almost every time. We got off of the lift and I turned
to the side and there was a spot of ice and I almost fell because of it. Everyone
tightened their boots and it was a race down to the first break point. We were
off and we slipped and slide everywhere the first one down, my dad, second, Sarah
and third was me I knew I had lost so right at the end I spun in circles. The whole
day consisted of the same things, I cant wait for good snow.

Tangerine, Edward Bloor
This week I am in the tangerine book group and so far I have liked the book. It is around 280 pages, and i am almost done with it, we are supposed to have it done by next week on Friday. this book has sports (which I like) and action, (not like shooting an stuff) and those are two things that make a book interesting in my perspective. The sports/action doesn't get to overwhelming in this book, its a nice balance.
This book is about Paul Fisher and his family moves to a place called Tangerine in Florida. Paul plays soccer and is a really good goalie his only issue is that he has a pair of thick glasses making it so he can see (because he had an accented when he was younger). He is going to go to a school called Lake Windsor Middle School and he really wants to play on the soccer team there but when his mom signed him up to the school she said he had an IEP (Individualized Education Program) because of his sight, the coach found out and he didnt make the team even though he was a really good goalie. we find out later in the book that he can see find with the glasses on. later in the book there is a very important event that could change his time in Tangerine, read this book if you want to find out.

Divergent, Veronica Roth
I chose this book obviously because absolutely everybody was
reading Allegiant and so I decided why not try the series, everyone sounded
like they enjoyed it. Right now I am almost done with it I am on page 400 approximately
and chapter 31. Truthfully so far in the book I am not really loving it, a lot of
people said it was a lot like the hunger games and usually I’m not very picky
about books but this book I really just haven’t liked as much as my others. To me
it is a lot more dramatic than I expected and a lot more romantic then I expected
and I really am not looking for that in a book. In general I like the plot line
but all of the small things like romance and drama kind of ruin the book. Can
some people tell me if insurgent is a lot like this and if I should read it or
not, basing of my view so far.
There are 5 factions in this futuristic dystopian Chicago,
Candor (the honest), Abnegation (the selfless), Dauntless (the brave), Amity
(the peaceful) and the Erudite (the intelligent). Beatrice is coming from an
Abnegation family and she doesn’t feel like she fits in. When she turns 16 she has to make the decision
of which faction she wants to split into. First you have a test and in the test
it shows you what factions you want to be in, then you get to make your decision.
When Beatrice takes the test she finds out that she is a mix of three different
factions, the name of this is a divergent (wow it’s like that’s the name of the
book and stuff). She makes her final decision to become one of the dauntless
because of their boldness, tattoos and piercings. Will this be the right decision
for Beatrice or not, read the book to find out.
